Job summary

Weibel Scientific A/S in Denmark seeks a Senior Field Service Engineer to deploy and sustain the XENTA radar systems for SHORAD and C-UAS applications. You will lead on-site installation, integration, testing, and customer support throughout the full lifecycle.

You bring 5+ years of hands-on electronics experience, knowledge of IT systems and schematics, and strong problem-solving. The role requires up to 75 travel days per year across the EU and USA with ESTA clearance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with electronics, tools and test equipment.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, electronics, and mechanical principles.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Basic knowledge of multi-pin connectors and their repair.
  • Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-FAT / SAT system testing and Customer FAT / SAT testing.
  • Installation, integration, and acceptance testing of Weibel radar systems.
  • Act as technical point of contact for customer support and incident handling.
  • Provide on-site mission support and technical guidance during critical operational activities.
  • Planning and execution of preventive maintenance programs and upgrades.
  • System performance and maintenance documentation.
  • Lead root cause investigations and drive corrective actions with engineering and product teams.
  • Training of customer personnel in system operation and maintenance.

As a Senior Field Service Engineer you will be a key contributor to the successful deployment and sustainment of our XENTA radar systems, supporting customers operating some of the most advanced SHORAD and Counter‑UAS capabilities available today.

Your role

As Senior Field Service Engineer in the Surveillance team you will work with our XENTA radar system, developed for Short Range Air Defense (SHORAD) and C‑UAS applications. XENTA is a state‑of‑the‑art radar system designed for high‑performance 3D air surveillance of all types of air threats.

Our team’s mission is to keep our global customers satisfied. You will play a central role in ensuring successful customer deployments and long‑term operational performance, acting as a trusted technical expert throughout the full lifecycle from installation to operation and sustainment.

Your primary tasks include:

  • Lead pre-FAT / SAT system testing and Customer FAT / SAT testing
  • Installation, integration, and acceptance testing of Weibel radar systems
  • Act as technical point of contact for customer support and incident handling
  • Provide expert on‑site mission support and technical guidance during critical operational activities
  • Planning and execution of preventive maintenance programs and upgrades
  • System performance and maintenance documentation
  • Lead root cause investigations and drive corrective actions in collaboration with engineering and product teams
  • Training of customer personnel in system operation and maintenance

We will invest in your development through technical in‑house and on‑the‑job training, enabling you to become a true expert in our radar systems.

The role includes up to 75 yearly travel days, sometimes on short notice. You must be able to travel freely within the EU and enter the USA under an ESTA permit or equivalent.

Your Profile

Your experience and competences:

  • A formal technical education
  • Minimum 5 years of practical hands‑on experience with electronics, tools, and test equipment
  • A strong understanding of IT systems, electronics, and mechanical principles
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Basic knowledge of multi‑pin connectors and their repair
  • Strong communication skills in written and spoken English

If you also are familiar with industry practices, it will be an advantage, but not a requirement for this role.
