Job summary

Hamamatsu is seeking an Optical Engineer to join our R&D Projects group. You will design, build, and validate advanced laser systems, collaborating across disciplines to mature ideas into products.

The role focuses on high-power fibre laser projects, scaling output and interfacing with frequency conversion technologies. Strong photonics background and hands-on lab work are essential, with English fluency required.

Qualifications

• Strong background in photonics with hands-on experience in high-power fibre lasers and free-space optics.
• Solid laboratory skills and experience with hands-on experimental work.
• Excellent collaboration skills across small and large project teams from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong educational background in lasers, optical engineering, or physics; PhD is an advantage.
• Fluent and professional English communication.

• Design, build, and validate advanced laser systems.
