Lifted, an Upwork Company™, is seeking skilled Document Annotation Specialists for Northern Europe. The role focuses on reviewing, annotating, and transcribing texts from scanned documents, correcting OCR errors, and adjusting bounding boxes while maintaining strict formatting using Markdown.

Strong language skills across Danish, Finnish, Swedish, or related languages are essential. You will handle multilingual layouts, tables, and LaTeX expressions, ensuring faithful transcription and alignment

Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Luxembourgish, Norwegian, Norwegian Bokmål, Norwegian Nynorsk, or Swedish.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to process complex document layouts, tables, mathematical notation, and multilingual text.
• Ability to follow project guidelines and annotation standards to ensure consistent outputs.
• Experience with OCR correction, document annotation, bounding box adjustment, or related data quality tasks.
• Familiarity with Markdown formatting and structured document representation.

Responsibilities

• Review and annotate document images to identify text, paragraphs, tables, and other elements.
• Correct OCR errors including spelling, missing characters, formatting inconsistencies.
• Create and adjust bounding boxes to capture text blocks, paragraphs, and tables.
• Transcribe text exactly as in source, preserving characters, symbols, punctuation, and diacritics.
• Annotate tables, mathematical expressions, and LaTeX while preserving structure.
• Apply Markdown formatting to represent document structures (headings, lists, tables).
• Process multilingual documents while preserving language-specific characters.
• Follow project guidelines to ensure accurate, reliable outputs.
• Identify discrepancies and correct per instructions.
• Maintain high transcription accuracy and meet deadlines.
• Review complex layouts and technical content for data integrity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the annotation process.
