Job summary

Centrica Energy in Denmark seeks a Network Engineer to operate and improve private network infrastructure supporting trading, operational and data-centre environments. You will join a collaborative team and help evolve the private cloud foundation while ensuring security, resilience and performance across critical networks.

Responsibilities

• Operate, optimise and maintain private network infrastructure across routers, switches, firewalls and connectivity services.
• Support data centre networking platforms and ensure resilient, scalable services.
• Configure and maintain Cisco Firepower platforms for secure segmentation and policy controls.
• Troubleshoot incidents in business-critical environments and participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.

About The Role

As a Network Engineer, you will operate and improve the private network infrastructure supporting trading, operational and data centre environments. The role combines hands‑on engineering with operational ownership, with direct impact on performance, security, resilience and compliance.

In this role, you will:

• Operate, optimise and maintain private network infrastructure across routers, switches, firewalls and connectivity services
• Support Cisco ACI and data centre networking platforms, helping ensure resilient and scalable services
• Configure and maintain Cisco Firepower platforms, supporting secure segmentation and policy controls
• Troubleshoot incidents in business‑critical environments and participate in 24/7 on‑call rotations
• Contribute to infrastructure projects, including SCADA‑related upgrades, network design improvements, private cloud evolution and hybrid cloud enablement.

About You

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will:

• Have solid hands‑on experience with Cisco ACI and Cisco Firepower, including routing, switching, firewalling and day‑to‑day operations
• Understand access networks and Cisco ISE, including identity‑based access and secure connectivity
• Understand enterprise and data centre networking, including segmentation across IT and OT environments
• Be able to design, build and operate secure branch office networks globally
• Have experience with on‑premises data centres and resilient infrastructure services
• Be comfortable working across compute, storage, virtualisation and Linux‑based environments
• Approach troubleshooting with structure, curiosity and attention to detail
• Ideally bring exposure to automation, scripting, SCADA, OT or regulated industries
• Collaborate across the wider Centrica Group global network community.
