Job description

About the Role

Do you want to work with technical operations in a job where you use both your hands and your head?

As a CBRE Multi-Skilled Technician, you will carry out and support technical operations at our client Johnson Controls in Holme, Aarhus. We are a site team of 12 colleagues working with the operation and maintenance of buildings, technical installations, and production-related areas. You will join a smaller team of technicians with a broad contact surface across production, tradespeople, vendors, and colleagues throughout the organization.

This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building equipment and systems.

The position is not a pure trade job – but it is not an office job either. Some days you work with hands‑on tasks, troubleshooting, and minor repairs. Other days you follow up on service works, plan tasks, coordinate tradespeople, or make sure technical installations perform as they should. It is a job for someone who enjoys variety and gets energy from solving problems in practice.

What You'll Do

  • Inspect buildings and technical installations and follow up on daily operational issues.

  • Troubleshoot and carry out minor repairs and practical operational tasks.

  • Follow up on heating, ventilation, cooling, water, and electrical systems.

  • Support fire, alarm, and evacuation systems.

  • Perform meter readings and technical control tasks.

  • Plan and coordinate service and maintenance tasks.

  • Receive and coordinate external tradespeople and vendors, and follow up that completed work meets agreements and requirements.

  • Document and register completed tasks.

  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.

  • Carry out and review work orders across multiple technical disciplines and resolve escalated issues.

  • Consult with the client to schedule preventive maintenance and other downtime, minimizing business interruption and inconvenience.

  • Support the implementation of the preventive maintenance programme, ensuring building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.

  • Inspect work performed by colleagues, vendors, and subcontractors, and confirm that work is complete, equipment is fully functional, and the client space is in prime working condition.

  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.

  • Recognize and solve both typical and atypical problems in your own work area, evaluating and selecting solutions from established options.

  • Follow standardized procedures and practices, working with regular but moderate supervision and guidance.

  • Take part in the daily work with safety and the working environment.

Some tasks you solve yourself. Others you solve by involving the right specialist, asking the right questions, and following up until the task is closed.

Who Are You?

We do not believe there is only one right educational background. You may, for example, be trained as a property service technician (ejendomsservicetekniker), plumber, electrician, HVAC or mechanical technician – or hold another relevant technical background. A background in carpentry is an advantage, but not a requirement.

What You'll Need

  • A relevant technical education or trade certificate with 2–3 years of job-related experience. A combination of relevant experience and education will also be considered. Certifications or licenses required by Danish legislation must be held or obtainable.

  • A valid driving license (category B).

  • A valid forklift truck certificate (truckcertifikat) – required.

  • A valid telehandler certificate (telelæssercertifikat) – required.

  • A background in carpentry is preferred, but not a requirement.

  • Practical understanding of technical systems and buildings, and the ability to take ownership of your tasks.

  • A safe, structured way of working, good collaboration skills across different groups of people, and the willingness to learn new things.

  • Ability to create overview and follow up on tasks until they are completed.

  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting or carrying heavy loads of 25 kg or more.

  • An established understanding of work routines and standards, applying skills and knowledge across a range of processes, procedures, and systems.

  • Intermediate problem-solving skills with the capacity to review and select solutions from available options without supervisory approval.

  • Ability to explain detailed and complicated information within the team in a clear and concise manner.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, for example Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Strong organizational skills with a robust, inquisitive mindset.

  • General maths skills, including the ability to calculate figures such as percentages, discounts, and mark-ups.

  • Professional working proficiency in Danish and English, both written and spoken.

English in Your Everyday Work

We work in an international organization where meetings, emails, instructions, and documentation are often in English. You do not need to speak perfect English, but you should be able to:

  • Understand spoken and written everyday English.

  • Make yourself understood in dialogue with colleagues and vendors.

  • Read instructions, procedures, and technical documentation.

  • Write simple work-related emails.

What We Offer

  • A permanent position at a major client site in Holme, Aarhus, with a varied and hands‑on technical scope.
