Job summary

DTU Metabolomics Core at DTU Bioengineering in Kongens Lyngby invites a skilled Laboratory Technician to operate and maintain high-end analytical instrumentation, run samples for researchers, and support daily lab operations. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration within an international team.

The successful candidate will have a laboratory technician degree or higher, hands-on HPLC and preferably high-resolution MS experience, and good English communication.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree as a laboratory technician (laborant) and/or a BSc/MSc in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with HPLC instrumentation; high-resolution MS (e.g., QTOF) is a strong advantage
• Experience in routine laboratory work including sample preparation, solvent handling, and lab upkeep
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice, safety regulations, and documentation standards
• Structured, detail-oriented, and able to plan work independently
• Ability to communicate in English (working language)
• Ideally experience with natural products chemistry and sample preparation

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation, including high-resolution LC-MS systems with calibration, QC, and preventive maintenance
• Run samples for internal and external projects from preparation to data acquisition
• Order and manage laboratory supplies and keep the lab stocked
• Maintain lab standards: cleanliness, safety, waste handling, documentation, and quality control
• Support facility users with guidance on sample submission and preparation
• Contribute to development of workflows and procedures in the facility
• Support students in the lab
