Job summary

University of Copenhagen invites applications for a Metabolomics Data Scientist to develop and maintain LC‑MS data pipelines and support omics analyses. You will collaborate with a dynamic team and contribute to training in metabolomics data analyses.

The role is a full‑time position within the Nutrition, Microbiome and Metabolomics Research Group, starting 15 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter, with a start date and a clear end date tied to 2028.

Qualifications

  • A PhD degree or at least three years of experience in metabolomics or related discipline.
  • In‑depth knowledge and extensive experience with LC‑MS based metabolomics data analyses and annotation
  • Experience and a proven track record of developing or contributing to mass‑spectrometry based software
  • Extensive experience in the R programming language, Shiny, Linux and docker
  • Experience with data management and FAIR data principles
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
  • Prior teaching experience in metabolomics is an advantage
  • Prior wet‑lab experience in metabolomics is an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Development of LC‑MS‑based metabolomics data and annotation pipelines.
  • Maintenance of LC‑MS data pipelines and data infrastructure.
  • Development of SOPs and workflows; support of omics analyses with colleagues.
  • Training students and staff in metabolomics data analyses.
