Job summary

FLC Tunnel Group North I/S in Denmark is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to lead the TE systems team through preparation, transport and installation of Tunnel Element systems. You will guide technicians, troubleshoot equipment and ensure safe, compliant operations on site.

Strong reading of drawings, planning and English at B2 level are essential, with coordination across subcontractors and internal departments to achieve project targets.

About FLC:

At Femern Link Contractors (FLC), we are responsible for designing and constructing the immersed tunnel, portals and ramps on both ends of the tunnel, in Rødbyhavn and Puttgarden.

We are also building the facilities for prefabricating tunnel elements as well as accommodation facilities, also known as the "Tunnel village" in Rødbyhavn, which provides housing for FLC workers.

About the department:

The TE systems are part of the scope of the Marine team as temporary measures to facilitate the immersion of the elements. In total, 79 standard (220m long, 9m high, 45m wide) and 10 special elements (38m long, 12,5m high, 50m wide) will connect the Femern Belt Tunnel to both Germany and Denmark.

To be able to float up, transport and immerse the Tunnel Elements, the elements require temporary installations. These installations ensure that the elements float, stay balanced, immerse and can connect to the preceding element. A team of mechanics and electricians will install and test these installations.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Execute the TE systems works whilst coordinating closely and effectively with the involved (internal) stakeholders to optimize efficiency.

Plan, execute and register maintenance & repairs to the TE systems equipment:

• Pumps / Piping / Valves
• Electrical components
• Subsea sensors
• Hydraulic cylinders / Powerpacks / manifolds
• Umbilical winches / Sliprings
• Rolling equipment

Thereby ensuring operational equipment in compliance with legislative-, safety- and user requirements.

You will lead the team of technicians installing, maintaining and repairing the Tunnel Elements systems during the preparation, transport and installation phase of Tunnel Elements. Understand the functionality of the Tunnel Element systems. Troubleshoot system during installation and operation. Maintain and organize the work area (workshop and yard facilities) to ensure an orderly and safe workplace in compliance with Danish regulation, company procedures, and good work practice. Set up, select and support the TE systems team of technicians to ensure effective and reliable production cycle.

In the role of the Mechanical Supervisor, there will be interface with subcontractors, Operational departments of various disciplines and operations staff.

Qualifications:

The TE systems Mechanical Supervisor:

• Has the ability to read and understand technical drawings, working methods and working procedures.
• Plans the work ahead.
• Manages daily interface with other TE outfitting parties.
• Communicates in English (minimum B2 level) both written and spoken.
• Optimizes the usage of the TE systems team capabilities.
• Supports and coaches the TE systems technicians.
• Has excellent interpersonal skills
• Organizes daily toolbox / pre-start meetings.
• Connects the tasks to the bigger picture.
• Provides support and input on risk assessments for TE mobilization / demobilization, general tasks.
