Job summary

FEMERN SICE COBRA I/S (FSC) seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for on-site work in Rødby to lead design and delivery of mechanical systems for the Fehmarn project. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and ensure compliance with standards.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in large infrastructure, a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, and strong knowledge of HVAC, piping and BIM tools. Danish language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in mechanical engineering, preferably large infra/construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; Master’s degree considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and documentation of mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, plumbing, fire protection).
• Act as technical interface with clients, contractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Collaborate with electrical, structural and architectural teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Support planning, prioritization and coordination across multiple workstreams.
• Prepare pre-installation documentation (method statements, submittals, client docs) and assist site teams.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team on‑site in Rødby. In this role, you will take a leading position in the design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical systems, contributing to one of Europe’s most complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical System Design & Documentation

• Lead the analysis and design of mechanical systems and take ownership of technical deliverables across the project lifecycle, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire suppression systems, across a diverse range of project types and sizes.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory standards, client requirements, and best practices.
• Take ownership of technical documentation and engineering deliverables.

Stakeholder Interaction

• Act as a key technical interface with clients, contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
• Ensure alignment on technical solutions, timelines, and requirements.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with electrical, structural, and architectural teams.
• Contribute to integrated engineering solutions that optimize performance and constructability.

Project & Team Coordination

• Support planning and prioritization across multiple workstreams.
• Share technical expertise and contribute to a high‑performing engineering team.

Pre-Installation Support & Documentation

• Support the production and construction teams by preparing all necessary documents prior to installation, including method statements, technical submittals, and client‑required documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Support site teams during execution to ensure design intent is maintained.

Required Competences & Experience

• 10+ years in mechanical engineering, preferably within large infrastructure, industrial, or construction projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (Master's degree considered an advantage).
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, and mechanical building systems.
• Experience with design tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks or similar).
• Solid understanding of construction and installation practices.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Desired Competences

• Experience in large infrastructure or tunnel projects.
• Experience with BIM and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Familiarity with European standards and regulations.
• Knowledge of Danish regulations and practices is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Danish,German and/or Spanish.
