John Sisk & Son Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead on-site delivery of mechanical packages on Sensori projects. You will own planning, execution, safety, quality, cost control and subcontractor coordination, working with program management, engineering, operations and supply-chain partners.

The role requires strong practical knowledge of mechanical systems, solid commercial awareness and the ability to keep live sites productive while maintaining company standards.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification or relevant third-level engineering/technical qualification.
  • 5+ years PM experience on medium-to-large mechanical installation projects; 8+ for seniors.
  • Strong practical knowledge of mechanical systems and electrical interfaces on site.
  • Experience with design-build delivery and managing workforce relations on site.
  • Solid knowledge of health and safety practices and statutory compliance.
  • Proficient with scheduling tools, project reporting systems and standard office software.
  • Clear, concise communicator able to lead meetings, reports and client liaison.
  • Strong commercial awareness across cost control, valuations and variations.
  • Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities on live sites; languages are a plus.

Job description

The Mechanical Project Manager leads on-site delivery of mechanical packages on Sensori projects. The role owns planning, execution, safety, quality, cost control, subcontractor coordination and final handover, working closely with program management, engineering, operations and supply-chain partners. It requires strong practical knowledge of mechanical systems, a firm grip on commercial performance and the ability to keep a live site productive while maintaining Sensori's standards.


Principal duties and responsibilities



  • Manage design review, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems for assigned projects.

  • Oversee interfaces between mechanical and electrical scopes; review designs with engineering and client teams to ensure constructability and alignment with site works.

  • Coordinate daily site activity, resolve issues, deploy labour and plant efficiently and maintain productivity.

  • Develop and maintain the site program in line with the project plan, engineering milestones and client requirements; monitor the critical path and reallocate resources to protect targets.

  • Control all costs within scope, including Sensori mechanical teams, subcontractors, materials, plant, variations and valuations; issue weekly cost reports.

  • Work with the Project Manager, Operations Manager and EHS lead to create, maintain and close the project safety file; ensure statutory compliance and a strong QHSE culture.

  • Set up, maintain and close site QA documentation with the QA lead; enforce quality standards across teams and subcontractors.

  • Manage subcontractor activity, track progress and manpower, chair and minute weekly coordination meetings and ensure subcontractor documentation is current.

  • Produce internal weekly roll-ups (percent complete by WBS, risks, KPIs) and external progress reports; maintain a photographic diary and track material deliveries.

  • Submit direct labour and subcontractor hours for central tracking.

  • Maintain strong client relationships; attend site meetings, project reviews, engineering reviews, planning sessions and handover meetings.

  • Manage change for cost and program impact; prepare valuations and variation documentation.

  • Deliver the final account, O&M manuals, punch-list completion, safety and QA files and final project documentation with the project team.


Selection criteria / person specification



  • Trade qualification and/or relevant third-level engineering or technical qualification.

  • At least five years' project management experience delivering medium-to-large mechanical installation projects; eight or more years for senior appointments.

  • Strong practical understanding of mechanical systems and a good working knowledge of electrical interfaces on site.

  • Experience with integrated design-and-build delivery models and with managing workforce relations on site.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of site health and safety practice and statutory compliance.

  • Proficient with scheduling tools, project reporting systems and standard office software.

  • Clear, concise communicator able to lead meetings, write reports and liaise with clients and stakeholders.

  • Strong commercial awareness across cost control, valuations and variations.

  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, manage competing priorities on live sites and drive large-scale programs to completion; additional European languages are an advantage.
