Job summary

Harding+ seeks an experienced Mandarin-speaking Retail Manager to lead onboard cruise retail teams and drive guest experiences across luxury merchandise. You will inspire staff, deliver sales and profit targets, train your team, manage client outreach for events, and uphold the highest standards on both the shop floor and back office while working at sea.

This contract role offers accommodation and meals on board, visas, and seafaring documents, with voyages up to six months at a time and 1–2

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Retail Manager or Assistant Manager (ideally with experience at sea).
• Fluent in Mandarin and able to communicate confidently with guests.
• Motivated to lead a team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
• Excellent face-to-face customer service and sales abilities.
• Public speaking experience and ability to showcase luxury items.
• Adaptable to change and work in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong leadership and teamwork with commercial focus.
• Strong store and HR processes knowledge (sales reports, loss prevention, audits, appraisals, disciplinaries).
• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team in creating an exceptional and memorable retail experience for the guests on board
• Leading and inspiring the team to provide exceptional customer service, whilst delivering sales and profit targets
• Setting an example for your team by acting as a role model
• Identify and deliver training requirements within your team
• Take ownership of your client base including outreach to clients for events such as private sale, in-store events and product knowledge
• Consistently deliver the highest possible standards both on the shop floor and in back office operations
