Job summary

BioLib is seeking a Machine Learning Scientist to bridge biology and AI, developing and deploying models on diverse biological data to accelerate discoveries in medicine. You will translate researchers’ questions into robust, scalable ML solutions on our platform.

You will collaborate with scientists and pharma partners, publish open source work, and contribute to shaping BioLib's scientific roadmap while working with Python-based production code and PyTorch.

Qualifications

• A degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a biology-related field.
• Hands-on experience building and training ML models, preferably with PyTorch.
• Proficiency writing production-quality Python code.
• Experience with biological data and understanding of underlying biology.
• Publications or open source projects demonstrating work.
• Enjoys collaborating with scientists to translate needs into practical solutions.

• Deploy models as scalable applications on the BioLib platform, making them accessible to scientists worldwide.

The Role

As a Machine Learning Scientist at BioLib, you'll work at the intersection of machine learning and biology. You'll develop, train and deploy models on biological data - from protein sequences and structures to large-scale omics datasets - and shape how state-of-the-art machine learning methods are made accessible to scientists and pharma companies worldwide.

Your work will directly support novel discoveries in biology and medicine.

What You'll Do

Who You Are

• You're comfortable writing production-quality code in Python and enjoy building tools that others rely on.
• You have experience working with biological data and a solid understanding of the underlying biology.
• You have published papers or open source projects that demonstrate your work.
• You enjoy working closely with scientists and translating their needs into practical, reliable solutions.
