Job summary

Presto Engineering in Hoersholm, Denmark is seeking a Junior Test Engineer to join our Test Development team. The role is entry-level, ideal for recent graduates eager to gain hands-on experience with ATE testing, reviewing specifications, and supporting production releases.

You will design and validate test programs in Java and C++, work with ASIC designers, and help with fault finding and characterization tests.

Qualifications

About The Job

We are looking for a Junior Test Engineer to join our Test Development team at Presto Engineering in Hørsholm. This is an entry-level position, well suited for a recent graduate or someone early in their career who is eager to build hands‑on experience in ATE testing. In this role, you will be responsible for designing ATE (Automated Test Equipment) test solutions — from reviewing test specifications through to production release and ramp‑up support — with support and guidance from experienced colleagues on the team.

Working closely with ASIC designers and test specialists — both internally and at customer sites — you will guide the hardware design team in developing test hardware, implement and validate test programs in Java and C++, run stability testing, and support Production during ramp‑up. You will also support Sales with estimations for potential new test projects.

Your Responsibilities:

Production test solutions

• Review test specifications from ASIC designers or customers, and provide feedback on testability and solution requirements
• Assist and guide the HW design team in designing test hardware
• Implement test programs, debug test solutions, and perform stability testing
• Communicate with customers or ASIC designers throughout the design and implementation process, and agree on production release
• Evaluate test specifications for possible new test projects
• Estimate implementation effort in cooperation with the Test Development Team Manager
• Implement test programs in Java and C++

Characterization test

• Design characterization tests
• Execute and report characterization test results

Tools

• Develop tools to support the implementation of test solutions

Fault finding

• Assist Production with complex fault finding on ATE testers

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science / Software Development (or related field)

Experience

• This is a junior-level position — around 2 years of relevant experience is a plus, but candidates with little to no professional experience are strongly encouraged to apply

Skills

• Programming skills in C++ and Java
• Experience with Linux
• Experience with, or strong interest in, microelectronics
• Ability to understand and interpret technical requirement specifications
• Proficiency in MS Office tools.

Location & Travel

This role is eligible for Flexible Working From Home (FWFH) on occasions in agreement with the Test Development Manager, but will mostly be based at our office. The role will be based at our office in Hoersholm, Denmark. Occasional travel to our other offices for customer projects may be required.
