Job description

Are you at the beginning of your software development career and motivated to develop reliable solutions that support research and drug development?

Minerva Imaging is seeking a Junior Python Developer with an interest in backend development to join our innovative Digital Solutions and Technology department.

Whether you are newly graduated or have a few years of experience, we offer the opportunity to grow your skills while working with experienced colleagues in a collaborative development team.

About the Role

In this role, you will primarily work with our core internal application for managing and streamlining data capture and reporting across research workflows, and a new initiative using data from this application. You will work closely with the development team on shared solutions while also taking responsibility for smaller, clearly defined development tasks of your own. Together, you will develop new features, improve existing functionality, and help ensure that our applications remain reliable, maintainable, and aligned with real operational needs. You will also collaborate with colleagues across the organization to understand requirements and continuously improve our internal solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain functionality in our internal Python applications as part of the development team.
  • Collaborate with operations, research and other departments to understand requirements and contribute to practical solutions.
  • Develop clear, maintainable, and efficient code in Python and Django with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Create and maintain documentation for the solutions you help develop.
  • Participate in testing, troubleshooting, code reviews, and continuous improvement of code quality and development practices.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools in a structured, secure, compliant, and measurable way.
  • Contribute actively to the development team by asking questions, sharing knowledge, and learning from feedback.
Qualifications
  • Experience with Python from education, an internship, student work, personal projects, or professional employment.
  • Basic understanding of object-oriented programming, databases, APIs, and version control.
  • Interest in backend and frontend development and web applications. Experience with Django is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • A structured and curious approach to problem-solving, with a willingness to learn and ask for help when needed.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Django or another web framework.
  • Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Basic experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with automated testing, DevOps, or CI/CD.
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development.
  • Understanding of secure and compliant AI usage, including traceability and avoidance of data leakage.
  • Experience within life sciences or regulated environments.
  • Professional communication skills in Danish, as you will collaborate mostly with Danish-speaking colleagues and users.
