Job summary

EIFO, Denmark’s sovereign investment fund, is seeking an Investment Director to identify, lead and develop investments across deep tech, AI, next‑generation computing and quantum technologies. You will work with founders, co‑investors and industry partners to turn potential into commercial success, while shaping EIFO’s Frontier Technologies strategy and expanding international partnerships.

We are looking for an experienced Investment Director who combines solid investment judgment, deep technology insight and a passion for helping founders build globally competitive businesses.

About the role

You will identify, lead and develop investments across deep tech, AI, next-generation computing and quantum technologies, including the infrastructure, hardware and software enabling future technological breakthroughs.

From sourcing and investment execution to active portfolio development, you will work closely with founders, co-investors and industry partners to turn technological potential into commercial success.

Reporting to Sara Sande, Partner & Head of Frontier Technologies, you will collaborate with colleagues across EIFO and the wider innovation ecosystem.

What you’ll do

1) Invest in promising technologies

• Source and lead investments from initial assessment through due diligence, negotiation and closing.
• Develop investment theses and assess technology, markets, teams and business models.
• Structure investments alongside founders and co-investors.

2) Help build and scale companies

• Manage a portfolio of technology companies.
• Support founders on strategy, financing, governance and international growth.
• Contribute through board work, strategic sparring and follow-on investments.

3) Strengthen our team and ecosystem

• Help shape EIFO’s Frontier Technologies investment strategy.
• Build relationships across the international investment community, research and industry.
• Share knowledge, support teammates, and help build a collaborative team.

What you’ll bring

You combine investment experience, commercial judgment and a deep understanding of technology.

We imagine you bring several of the following:

• Experience from venture capital, corporate venture, institutional investment or a similar environment.
• A track record of sourcing, evaluating and leading technology investments.
• Experience developing portfolio companies and working closely with founders, including board experience.
• Extensive experience in deep tech, AI, next-generation computing and/or quantum technologies.
• The ability to translate complex technology into clear commercial and investment perspectives.
