Work for one of the leading European advisories specialised in project financing

About Nordic Innovators

We are a rapidly growing R&D&I project financing advisory at both European and national levels, combining grant, tax incentives, debt, and equity financing. Headquartered in Copenhagen (Denmark), with 85+ professionals working from our offices in Denmark (Aarhus and Copenhagen), Spain (Malaga) and Norway (Bergen and Drammen). We are a trusted advisor to a large group of European companies and universities, working across multiple sectors and technology areas throughout the challenging capital raising process.

Since our inception in October 2013, we have grown quickly and established the Nordic Innovators brand as a market leader in our home markets in Norway and Denmark with regards to national and European grant, debt, and equity financing services. To date we have supported clients from 26 different countries and raised more than €2.8 billion in project financing.

We advise our clients throughout the entire project financing journey, from identification of the optimal financing strategy to full project implementation and following project administration and compliance. Our success has given us a stellar reputation with multinational corporates, deep tech scaleups, and renowned European universities and research institutions.

We are looking for a Deep Tech Consultant to strengthen our European Programmes Business Unit.

We are looking for motivated professionals who combine strong digital technology expertise with excellent analytical and writing skills, and who are excited about working at the intersection of innovation, technology, and public funding.

As a consultant at Nordic Innovators, you will work with innovative companies, scale-ups, and research organisations across Europe to secure funding for ambitious R&D and innovation projects focused on developing advanced digital technologies, such as:

  • Advanced Materials
  • Quantum Computing

These technologies are increasingly critical across strategic European sectors, including:

  • Horizon Europe (Clusters 3 & 4, European Innovation Council (EIC), European Defence Fund)

You will combine technical understanding, strategic thinking, and structured proposal development to transform innovative ideas into compelling funding proposals aligned with European policy priorities.

We are a company focused on personal growth, knowledge sharing and professional development. You will work under the guidance of our Team Managers and together they will help you to develop yourself while providing training and mentorship, so that you become a key part of our growing team of successful consultants who are consistently producing high-quality grant proposals for our European client base.

Responsibilities
  • Lead or contribute to the development of high-quality European R&D funding proposals, from early concept development to final submission.
  • Translate complex technological innovations into clear, structured proposals aligned with EU evaluation criteria.
  • Work directly with innovative companies, start-ups, and research organisations to understand their technologies and R&D ambitions, with a focus on service and quality.
  • Advise clients on funding strategies, programme selection, and project positioning.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to define project concepts and gather proposal inputs.
  • Coordinate proposal development across multiple stakeholders including clients, consortium partners, and internal teams.
  • Ensure alignment of technical contributions, timely delivery of inputs, and overall proposal quality.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in innovation, funding opportunities, and your areas of expertise.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of proposal methodologies and best practices.
  • Share knowledge on digital technologies and EU funding opportunities within the team.
  • Contribute to Nordic Innovators as a whole.
Candidate requirements

  • Fluency in English (C1 minimum).

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to quickly understand complex technologies.
  • Excellent technical writing and structuring skills, translating innovation into compelling proposals.

  • A team player who contributes to the existing positive working environment.
  • Excellent people and communication skills to build a positive connection and to communicate professionally with clients, co-workers, and project partners.
  • Experience working with deep-tech SMEs, scale-ups, or research organisations.
