Job summary

Rockstart, a leading early stage investor with global offices, seeks a seasoned Associate to monitor a 70+ startup portfolio, manage investment and exit processes, and contribute to a EUR 16m agrifood fund. You will collaborate with an international team, drive deals across stages, and own end-to-end workflows from due diligence to portfolio reporting.

You bring 3+ years in VC transactions, superb communication in English, and a strong Danish/Nordics network, with a passion for mission-driven

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience working with demonstrable VC (or related) transactions.
• Well-developed social and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with a track record of delivering results.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for early stage startups and venture capital.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong Danish/Nordics network with agrifood sustainability exposure.

Responsibilities

• Be the first contact for portfolio startups and represent Rockstart in shareholders' meetings.
• Analyze investment rounds from valuation and returns perspective.
• Collect data for investor reporting and update startup/portfolio database.
• Support business development assessments and manage investors' requests.
• Run ongoing and new investment processes in Agrifood fund, including due diligence and presentations to Investment Committee.
• Engage with portfolio startups and initiatives and manage portfolio reporting.

About the Role:

Rockstart is an early stage investor that empowers purpose-driven founders across three domains: Energy, AgriFood, and Emerging Technologies. With a global network and offices in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Bogotá, Rockstart invests in and accelerates early stage startups from pre-seed to Series B, providing access to capital, markets, and expertise through our fast-track scaling program.

You will work alongside our experienced international team to monitor a portfolio of 70+ startups, to manage investment & exit processes of those startups and to be part of a EUR 16m impact fund focused on Agriculture and Food. We believe this role represents a great opportunity for personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

General responsibilities:

• Being the first point of contact for portfolio startups and representing Rockstart in shareholders' meetings
• Analysis of investment rounds from valuation and returns perspective
• Collecting data for the investor reporting
• Updating our startup/portfolio database
• Business development assessments
• Manage investors' requests

Agrifood fund responsibilities:

• Running ongoing and new investment processes, including due diligence, contract negotiations and presentations to the Investment Committee
• Managing and reporting on the portfolio
• Actively engaging with portfolio startups and initiatives

You are an experienced Associate looking for the next exciting step. With a passion for working with mission driven founders and early stage startups, you like to connect with people, build trusting relationships across stakeholder groups and love to work in a team. As a person you are dedicated and take pride in owning processes and tasks. You gain energy from having focussed time when working from home, balanced with regular office days to reconnect with colleagues.

You enjoy deal making, you are able to independently drive and close deals at multiple stages of investment. Your ability to manage processes effectively allows you to shift focus between several topics without compromising on quality or efficiency.

You are humble and bring a positive attitude, open to learning and coaching with a solution orientated approach. You excel at driving workflows and know how to involve and collaborate with your team members.

Your skills and experience:

• 3+ years of relevant experience working with demonstrable VC (or related) transactions
• Well-developed social and interpersonal skills
• Self-starter personality; delivers and gets stuff done
• Strong analytical skills
• Passion for early stage startups, with a desire to excel in the fields of venture capital
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English
• Strong Danish/Nordics network, with an angle in agrifood ventures and sustainability

Bonus points:

A masters degree in business, finance or economics or stellar commercial entrepreneurial experience building a VC-backed startup.
