Head of Strategy & Operations to join a technology-driven intelligence company serving the renewable energy industry

As Head of Strategy & Operations you will be the operational and strategic right hand to our two founders. We are a small, ambitious team, and this role sits at the centre of it. The role spans company strategy, board and investor coordination, legal and compliance oversight, and company operations. You own the relationship with our external bookkeeper and own our internal financial model to steer and guide decisions.

You report to the founders and work closely with the board, our legal counsel and our finance partner. It is a hands-on generalist role for someone who is equally at ease challenging a forecast, preparing a board decision and getting a contract over the line.

Your key tasks will be to:

• Own the annual strategy process with the founders and keep the overview of our Strategic Bets and their critical path
• Lead internal strategic projects which could be across product, process, commercial, AI transformation or other topics
• Maintain fundraising readiness: next-round timing, runway triggers and a current data room
• Bring strategic items to the board agenda, including partnership and M&A screening, and operationalize the decisions coming out of it
• Own the financial model: scenarios, FTE forecast, hiring dates and cost assumptions
• Coordinate the monthly cycle with our external finance support, quality-assure their output and monitor cash runway and burn against budget
• Drive the annual budget through board approval and coordinate the annual audit
• Run the board cadence: invitations, quarterly board deck, minutes, and the action and decision log
• Own the monthly investor report and prepare material for the monthly investor meeting
• Be the contact point for our legal counsel and oversee cap table, shareholder agreement obligations, GDPR, incentive programs, insurance and EUDP grant administration
• Lead our HR & Office Manager, who reports to you and owns people, office and IT general operations

We imagine that you:

• Have an educational background in business, finance, economics, law or a related field
• Bring 4+ years of experience from management consulting, strategy, business operations, chief of staff or a similar generalist role, ideally in a management consultancy or a scale-up
• Can own a financial model and challenge the numbers, without wanting to be an accountant
• Have worked with boards, investors or senior stakeholders and know what good governance looks like

Your competences include:

• Structured and reliable: you drive processes to completion across founders, board, advisors and an outsourced finance team
• Trustworthy with sensitive matters such as cap table, salaries, legal and fundraising
• A solid quantitative and analytical mindset, with the judgement to know which numbers matter for a decision
• Clear, top-down communication verbally and in writing, including board-level material
• Very curious by nature spanning tools, new topics and work approaches including AI-native workflows – much of our internal workflows are automated, and you will keep it that way
