Job summary

Nordic Solar seeks a senior, commercially driven PPA & Origination specialist to build and lead our power offtake strategy across Europe. About The Position

We are looking for a senior, commercially driven PPA & Origination specialist to build and lead our power offtake strategy at Nordic Solar.

This is a pivotal specialist role in our Commercial Asset Management and Energy Trading team. As we expand our operational portfolio and pipeline across Europe, it is a strategic focus to further strengthen our commercial capabilities. You will lead the origination efforts, close deals, and help shape our commercial approach by finding new solutions that cater to our hybrid solar and BESS portfolio. This is a hands‑on role with high impact, suited to someone who wants to define direction rather than operate within a predefined framework.

You will report to the Head of Commercial Asset Management and Energy Trading and collaborate closely with the PPA & Trading Team and other departments. The role does not include people leadership — you will lead through deal ownership, expertise, and commercial strategy. You will also play a visible role in decision preparation for senior leadership, presenting deal structures and recommendations. The position is based at our headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and maintain a pipeline of active PPA opportunities across multiple projects and markets – including building the right network of advisors and matchmakers.
• Originate and execute power offtake agreements across European markets, taking a deal from initial commercial terms through to signed contract.
• Lead commercial negotiations with off‑takers and counterparties to secure agreements.
• Lead cross‑functional deal teams, coordinating legal, finance, and development to close complex transactions. Coordinate cross‑functional processes and ensure alignment between PPA strategy, project timelines, and financing requirements.
• Actively manage market, operational, and financial risk across the offtake portfolio, ensuring deals sit within Nordic Solar's risk tolerance and that risks are quantified and mitigated.
• Monitor power market developments and support financing processes with relevant market insights and commercial perspectives.
• Build and maintain high‑value relationships with key counterparties and industry partners, acting as a credible voice for Nordic Solar in the market.

About You

• 7+ years of relevant experience in energy origination, trading, or PPA structuring, with a proven track record of closing high‑value PPAs in European markets.
• Demonstrated experience in structuring and negotiating complex agreements. Experience with hybrid PPA’s will be a great advantage.
• Strong understanding of European power markets and commercial agreements.
• Solid analytical understanding with the ability to prepare and defend business cases.
• Comfortable operating autonomously and working closely with senior and executive stakeholders, taking a hands‑on role in execution as well as shaping strategy.
• Team player and skilled communicator with the ability to explain and simplify complex topics.
