Job summary

OJ Electronics seeks a hardware engineer to help design, validate and improve the power electronics hardware forming the foundation of our drives platform.

You will participate from concept through production release, developing hardware for motor-control and drive applications, translating requirements into designs, and performing simulations and testing to ensure performance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or engineering degree in electronics or related field.
  • Experience in electronic hardware design, preferably power electronics.
  • Experience with inverter design, DC-link design, thermal design and derating, EMC.
  • Experience validating electronic hardware through testing and verification.
  • Knowledge of power electronics and motor-control systems.
  • Experience working with ACIM, PMSM, or BLDC motor technologies.
  • Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken.

Job description

Your involvement will apply from the earliest concept and simulation stages to validation and final implementation – with opportunities to influence technical decisions and product performance throughout.

Your role

As part of the hardware development team, you’ll help design, validate and improve the power electronics hardware that forms the foundation of our drives platform.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in development activities from concept phase through production release
  • Developing power electronics hardware for motor-control and broader drive applications
  • Translating technical requirements into hardware designs and implementations
  • Performing simulations, validation, and verification of hardware designs
  • Resolving technical challenges related to performance, reliability, and compliance
  • Collaborating closely with software, testing, mechanics, and product management teams
  • Supporting testing and validation activities related to standards and special application requirements

Must-have qualifications

  • Master’s degree or engineering degree in electronics or a related field
  • Experience with electronic design and hardware development – preferably power electronics
  • Experience with inverter design, DC-link design, thermal design and derating, EMC
  • Experience validating electronic hardware through testing and verification
  • Knowledge of power electronics and motor-control systems
  • Experience working with ACIM, PMSM, or BLDC motor technologies
  • Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken

Nice-to-have qualifications

  • Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB or similar platforms
  • Experience developing hardware for drives or motor-control applications
  • Danish language skills are a strong plus
  • Structured and proactive approach to technical problem-solving
  • Experience working in cross-functional development teams
