Job summary

The Research Unit of General Practice at the Institute of Public Health, University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a 2-year full-time Assistant Professor position in Global Health. The role involves research to strengthen primary healthcare systems for vulnerable populations and collaboration with international partners.

The successful candidate will contribute to the STRENGTHEN project and other global health initiatives, with opportunities for supervision of BSc/MSc/PhD

Qualifications

• PhD in Global Health, Public Health, Epidemiology or related discipline.
• Strong background in health systems research and primary healthcare in LMICs.
• Strong academic record and evidence of research impact.
• Good collaboration and communication skills.
• Interest in co-supervising BSc, MSc and PhD students.
• Experience with mixed-methods research and implementation science (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct and lead global health research with a focus on strengthening primary healthcare in LMICs.
• Contribute to the STRENGTHEN project and other global health initiatives.
• Collaborate with researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers and communities across settings.
• Engage in implementation science, health services research and evaluation.
• Travel to Kenya for short periods.
