Job summary

European Investment Bank (EIB) is recruiting a Climate Change Specialist to join the Sustainability and Climate Office in Luxembourg. The role leads climate policy, risk and greenhouse gas accounting workstreams and coordinates with risk management, portfolio teams and external partners.

Panel interviews are anticipated for November. The position offers relocation support and an opportunity to operate within a truly international environment, with regular office presence at the Luxembourg

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering, economics, or related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, with climate change exposure.
• Strong Excel and data analytics skills; coding to process large datasets is an advantage.
• Knowledge of international climate policy and greenhouse gas accounting methods.

Responsibilities

• Implement Paris Alignment of Counterparties framework within the Bank's climate policy and risk framework.
• Lead greenhouse gas accounting and reporting workstreams at project and portfolio levels.
• Support climate risk policy and advisory work and coordinate with internal teams across the EIB Group.
• Develop external partnerships to advance climate risk work and Paris alignment with MDBs, NGFS and related groups.
