Job summary

DTU Bioengineering seeks a Laboratory technician to join the Fermentation core team within Synthetic Biology. You will support microbial cultivation, high-throughput screening, micro-fermentation, and automation while collaborating with multiple groups and external customers.

You will contribute to platform maintenance, assist in teaching courses, and help develop rapid methods for screening superior microbial cell factories in an international research environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on microbiology experience, handling microbial strains.
• Knowledge of microbial physiology and basic molecular biology.
• Experience with cultivation or fermentation technology.
• Interest in automation and liquid handling robots (e.g., Hamilton, Tecan EVO) and HPLC.

Responsibilities

• Participate actively in research projects and plan/perform experiments.
• Share responsibility for equipment, maintenance and training of students.
• Support practical teaching of fermentation-related courses and assist lab activities.
• Contribute to development of high-throughput methods for speeding design and screening of microbial cell factories.
