Job summary

Danske Commodities is seeking a software engineer who will design and develop scalable, high‑performing solutions at the heart of our trading platform. You’ll work in a cross‑functional product team with clear ownership of end‑to‑end delivery.

Responsibilities include analyzing customer needs, designing robust event‑driven systems, and providing ongoing support to users while maintaining data quality for risk and finance.

Qualifications

  • Hold a relevant educational background in computer science or software development.
  • Several years of experience in software development, system design and Agile methods.
  • Proficient in C# (.NET, MS SQL, Pulsar messaging on Kubernetes).
  • Experienced in API design and software architecture best practices.
  • Able to drive architectural changes for robust, scalable systems.
  • Interested in AI tooling and AI-assisted development as part of daily work.

This role uniquely combines hands‑on software engineering with direct exposure to the financial trading domain and the opportunity to design scalable and loosely coupled systems that have a real impact on critical business decisions.

Here’s what the job entails

In this role, you will be designing and developing scalable and high-performing solutions that are critical for the business to succeed. We work in a cross‑functional product team, enabling us to work with short time‑to‑delivery cycles and in close collaboration with our main stakeholders.

More specifically, your responsibilities include:

  • analysing customer needs and translating them into solutions that work for the business

  • designing scalable and robust systems that are built on event‑driven principles

  • providing system support to our users

  • maintaining existing systems to ensure timely delivery of business‑critical data

Meet your team

You will join our Mid Trade Flow team, responsible for the technical foundation for valuation of trading positions and market data processing. Our job is to ensure that our Risk‑ and Finance teams consistently receive complete and accurate data.

We are a team of nine specialists with varying backgrounds in software development, data engineering, mathematics, and product management. We combine deep domain expertise with a strong focus on developing T‑shaped capabilities, empowering team members to contribute across disciplines and take end‑to‑end ownership of solutions. Common to us all is a shared curiosity, openness, and collaborative mindset that drives continuous learning and improvement.

  • are experienced in API design and best practices in software architecture

  • can drive architectural change to ensure robust and scalable systems

  • are interested in AI tooling and AI‑assisted development as part of your daily workflow

Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
