Job summary

Seaspan Corporation is seeking a Business Development Manager, Europe, to supervise daily charter operations and maximize vessel utilization. The role interfaces with Seaspan's stakeholders to create revenue and deals, leading cross‑functional collaboration with the Commercial team.

The position can be based in Copenhagen, Marseilles, Hamburg, or another major European maritime city. The candidate should have five+ years in chartering/post‑fixture or related management, be able to travel

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience in chartering, post‑fixture or operations/commercial management.
• German or French language skills are a plus.
• Post‑secondary degree in relevant field from a recognized institution.

Responsibilities

• Market and negotiate vessel employment for charter in coordination with Europe leadership.
• Identify charter opportunities with Vancouver and APAC teams for revenue and utilization.
• Represent Seaspan’s interests in Europe and build client relationships to grow market share.
• Prepare monthly customer analyses, including fleet, financials, and orderbook.
• Create timely charter parties, fixture notes and addenda with Commercial Operations and Legal.
