Job summary

Aarhus University in Roskilde invites applications for a permanent Associate Professor in Environmental Chemistry. The successful candidate will contribute to expanding internationally recognized research and advisory and teaching activities within environmental chemistry.

You will lead an externally funded program, address the fate and transport of contaminants, provide research-based advisory services to ministries and authorities, and supervise MSc, PhD and postdoctoral researchers while

Qualifications

• PhD in Environmental Chemistry
• Proven research experience in environmental chemistry with internationally visible publications
• Ability to develop and maintain national and international research collaborations
• Experience with external research funding or clear potential to obtain funding
• Experience with university teaching and supervision
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to an inclusive and collegial research environment

Responsibilities

• Develop an internationally strong and externally funded research programme
• Address the occurrence, fate, transport, transformation, exposure and impacts of chemical contaminants
• Provide research-based advisory activities for Danish ministries and authorities
• Teach and develop courses at Life Long Education, MSc and PhD levels; supervise MSc, PhD and postdocs
• Foster interdisciplinary collaborations across environmental chemistry, toxicology, microbiology, biotechnology, modelling and data science
• Engage in knowledge exchange with governmental agencies, industry partners and international networks
