Job summary

Microchip Denmark is seeking an Embedded Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain OS-agnostic C APIs for Ethernet PHYs and switches used in automotive and industrial systems.

You will work at the intersection of low-level embedded development, networking, functional safety, and developer experience—building robust, reusable APIs and using AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and code quality in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in C and embedded software development.
• Experience developing software for embedded systems, preferably in networking or communications.
• Experience in regulated environments with safety/quality requirements.
• Structured and analytical approach to solving complex technical problems.
• Ability to work independently within a cross-functional team.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain clean, intuitive, and extensible C APIs for Ethernet PHYs and switches.
• Contribute to automated test infrastructure and API validation strategies.
• Develop MISRA-compliant C code and ensure API compatibility and long-term backward compatibility.
• Collaborate with chip design, systems engineering, networking, validation, and product development.
