The Electrical Supervisor leads Sensori's electrical trades at the workface, translating the weekly plan into daily allocations and making sure work is installed safely, to drawing and to the quality standard on the first attempt. The role briefs and monitors crews, controls materials and plant for its area, keeps installation records and punch lists current and is the first point of escalation for technical and coordination issues. It suits a time-served electrician with supervisory experience who takes ownership of an area and its people.
Principal duties and responsibilities
- Plan and allocate daily work for electricians, apprentices and subcontract labour in line with the weekly look-ahead; set clear targets and monitor output.
- Deliver daily briefings and toolbox talks; ensure every task has an approved risk assessment and method statement and that permits are in place before work starts.
- Supervise installation of containment, cabling, distribution equipment, lighting, earthing and control systems to drawing, specification and applicable regulations.
- Carry out first-line quality checks and installation benchmarks; complete inspection checklists on the project platform and raise and close punch-list items for the area.
- Manage materials and plant for the area, including requisitions, deliveries, storage and returns, minimising waste and double handling.
- Coordinate day to day with mechanical, civil and other trades to resolve clashes and keep areas available.
- Record progress, hours and labour returns accurately; report percent complete, constraints and risks to the Construction Manager or Package Manager.
- Support testing and pre-energisation activity under the direction of the Authorised Person, ensuring circuits are complete, labelled and documented.
- Maintain housekeeping, access and welfare standards in the work area; stop work and escalate where conditions are unsafe.
- Coach apprentices and less experienced electricians and contribute to performance reviews.
