Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an experienced Software Engineer (Edge – Devices & Mobile) based in Denmark to build a resilient cross-platform Rust peer runtime for Windows, Android, and Linux with future support for macOS. You will work at the intersection of systems engineering, mobile platforms, networking, and distributed infrastructure.

You will lead development with native integrations, FFIs, and sophisticated observability while collaborating with senior engineers across a global, remote-first

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Rust
• Experience building cross-platform Rust apps on at least two OSs (Windows, macOS, Android)
• Strong OS internals, process management, and platform constraints
• FFI with C/C++ libraries and native OS APIs (JNI/NDK, Win32, POSIX)

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain a cross-platform Rust peer runtime for Windows, Android, Linux and macOS
• Manage processes, background execution, networking, updates, and stability across diverse hardware
• Lead Android support via NDK/JNI and mobile constraints
• Integrate Chromium networking stacks and HTTP clients into Rust libraries
• Work with OS APIs and FFI ensuring safe memory management and interop
• Collect signals (TCP/TLS/HTTP) to improve network realism for distributed fleets
• Develop device observability and performance metrics across fleets
• Expand capabilities for additional workloads while maintaining security boundaries
• Participate in on-call rotations, post-mortems, and deployment improvements
• Contribute to docs, architecture proposals, and coding standards
