Factbird, a Copenhagen-based IoT company, is hiring an Embedded Platform Engineer to own our edge platform. You will work across embedded Linux, Rust components, Yocto builds, and edge AI runtimes, ensuring secure, updatable devices in factories.

You will join a small, autonomous IoT team, collaborating with ML and cloud teams, shaping the role as edge products evolve, and moving fast on hardware bring‑up and field deployments.

Qualificações

• Hands-on experience shipping embedded Linux to production, including Yocto: layers, BSPs and images you've built and maintained yourself.
• Strong systems programming in Rust, or deep C/C++ experience on embedded Linux with Rust exposure.
• Advantage if you’ve worked with AWS IoT Core or Greengrass, video pipelines or ML inference on edge hardware.
• Solid grasp of embedded security and update mechanisms: signed images, A/B or similar update schemes, and secure device provisioning.
• You can explain technical trade-offs clearly to engineers, support or customers, in fluent English.
• Eagerness to relocate to Denmark with legal right to live/work.

Responsabilidades

• Develop our Yocto-based Linux distribution: layers, BSPs, kernel configuration, and reproducible builds.
• Build and maintain the Rust components that run on our edge devices.
• Bring up new hardware platforms, debug on target, and keep the platform secure and maintainable over a long device lifetime.
• Keep CI and on-hardware testing healthy, ensuring changes reach devices with confidence.
• Work with ML/vision engineers on device-side pipelines and model inference for edge hardware.
• Collaborate on deployment strategies: packaging, rollout, rollback, drift monitoring.
• Own device provisioning, OTA updates, and fleet observability.
• Make deployments safe and boring: staged rollouts, health checks, recovery paths.
• Diagnose device issues at customer sites with Support/Cloud to deliver lasting fixes.
