Factbird is hiring an Embedded Platform Engineer to own the edge platform for our industrial IoT devices. You’ll work across embedded Linux, Rust, and device software, building a secure, updatable edge stack and coordinating with cloud/ML teams.

You’ll bring up new hardware, ensure long device lifetimes, and contribute to the vision for the edge platform. A strong security mindset and experience shipping embedded Linux are essential.

Qualificações

• Hands-on experience shipping embedded Linux to production and Yocto: layers, BSPs, images built by you.
• Strong systems programming in Rust, or deep C/C++ on embedded Linux with real exposure to Rust you want to build on.
• Advantage if you've worked with AWS IoT Core or Greengrass, video pipelines or ML inference on edge hardware, or in industrial unattended environments.
• Solid grasp of embedded security and update mechanisms: signed images and provisioning.
• Ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to engineers, support, or customers.
• Open to moving to Denmark if you have the right to live and work there.

Responsabilidades

• Develop our Yocto-based Linux distribution: layers, BSPs, kernel configuration, and reproducible builds.
• Build and maintain the Rust components that run on our edge devices.
• Bring up new hardware platforms, debug on target, and keep the platform secure and maintainable over a long device lifetime.
• Keep CI and on-hardware testing healthy, ensuring changes reach devices with confidence.
• Work with ML/vision engineers on device-side computer vision capabilities: camera pipelines, video streaming, and model inference.
• Own device provisioning, over-the-air updates, and fleet observability.
• Make deployments safe and boring: staged rollouts, health checks, and recovery paths.
• Help diagnose issues on customer devices with Support, Product, and Cloud to craft lasting fixes.
