Job summary

DanChurchAid (DCA) is seeking a Head of Humanitarian Response & Mine Action (HRMA) based at the Copenhagen head office. You will provide leadership and strategic direction for humanitarian response and mine action, guiding a global team of advisers and specialists, and ensuring effective delivery across country programmes.

You will shape strategies, collaborate with partners, and oversee planning and budget processes while strengthening partnership with donors, UN agencies and the ACT Alliance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated responsibility for strategic leadership, team performance, and programme delivery at scale.
• Experience leading humanitarian interventions and mine action operations.
• Willingness and ability to travel to country programmes (≈5–7 weeks/year).
• Fluency in English; Danish and/or French and/or Arabic is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely and high‑quality humanitarian responses to disasters and emergencies.
• Lead and motivate a global humanitarian advisory and mine action team.
• Develop new strategies, guidelines and ensure regular review and maintenance across the unit.
• Engage donors, UN agencies, and the Danish MFA; build external partnerships.
• Contribute to learning, fundraising, positioning and advocacy with HO units.
• Lead annual planning and budget processes and ensure effective implementation.
• Collaborate with Country Directors and ensure coordinated support from HO units.
