Job summary

Banking Circle, a licensed, technology-enabled bank processing over €1,5 trillion in payments annually, is hiring a Development Engineer for the Core Payments Team in Copenhagen. You will join a small, dedicated team building a cloud-native payment engine focused on quality, performance and reliability to enable 24/7 processing.

This role emphasizes .NET backend development with Azure services and a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop back-end solutions in C# on Microsoft Azure (Azure SQL, Service Bus, Storage, KeyVault, Kubernetes).
• Apply engineering practices with focus on performance and reliability.
• Take technical ownership of complex feature implementations.
• Critically assess ways of working and contribute to improvements.
• Suggest ideas to scale and enhance the platform.
• Support and mature our ways of working through collaboration.

You will participate in building a high-end solution where quality, performance, and reliability matters and where we have ambitions for our payment engine to become a central enabler of the company’s future abilities and opportunities.

By joining the team, you will get the chance to build and support a payment engine that enables 24/7 processing and meets demands for continuous high throughput. We are a .NET backend-team that uses a mix of technologies with a focus on the Microsoft Azure-suite, e.g. with Azure Data and Messaging Services (Service Bus, EventHub, etc), and use of Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos) hosted in the cloud (Kubernetes).

We are an agile team that has a close collaboration with stakeholders and where there is a high level of trust in, and recognition of, the team’s capabilities.

We offer a hybrid work model for our employees to allow for flexibility and productivity. However, we do expect you to spend most of your time in the office to build community and efficiency in the team.

• Development of back-end solutions in C# on Microsoft Azure (Azure SQL Database, Service Bus, Storage Accounts, KeyVault, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Applying good engineering practices with an eye for performance and reliability
• Carry the technical responsibility of complex feature implementations
• Critically assess our way of working and contribute to improving and maturing it
• Critically assess the current solutions, and contribute with ideas to continuously improve and scale of our platform
• Support our ways of working and be a contributor in improving and maturing them

Things we’ll look for on your resume

To succeed in this role, we expect you to already have experience from a similar role where you have gained experience within .NET. You might already have worked with backend solutions that process high volumes of data with a focus on throughput and availability.

You have experience working with performance sensitive applications and you are comfortable with caching strategies, both in-process and distributed. We run our entire core platform in Azure so you will get a chance to work with modern cloud services and solutions. Therefore, Azure experience is a definite plus, but not a requirement.

You are motivated and skilled in designing clean and maintainable solutions.

As a person you are pro-active, responsible, and quality oriented. You have strong analytical skills and a structured way of working and courage to try new things. You are dependable and a knowledge-sharing team-player that thrives with collaboration.
