Job summary

Vestas in Aarhus is seeking a Data Engineer to join Digital Solutions & Development. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data products that enable self-service analytics and AI initiatives, partnering with engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders.

Own the architecture and lifecycle of data assets, apply best practices in data modeling, testing, CI/CD, observability, and ensure solutions are secure, maintainable, and aligned with Azure cloud platforms.

ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams, you'll help shape our data platform, improve engineering excellence, and support the growth of a collaborative, effective data community.• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-quality data products that support business and analytics needs• Collaborate with business stakeholders and domain experts to translate core business concepts into robust, reusable data models• Own the technical design, architecture, and lifecycle of data products, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable• Partner with the Area Architect to define architectural direction, evaluate technical trade-offs, and ensure alignment with engineering standards and principles• Promote best practices across data modelling, testing, documentation, CI/CD, observability, and operational support to promote engineering excellence• Provide technical support across teams by helping shape decisions, mentoring colleagues, and promoting a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement Qualifications• Experience in data engineering, data platform development, or related roles, with solid SQL skills and deep experience in building scalable data transformations• Familiar with Snowflake, dbt, or similar transformation frameworks, alongside modern data engineering workflows and best practices• Demonstrated experience owning the architecture and technical direction of data products or platforms, including scalable data modelling approaches such as Data Vault, dimensional modelling, or similar patterns• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, DevOps practices, Azure services, and cloud-based data engineering environments• Experience transforming complex source systems into clean, governed data products Competencies• Ability to work through complex challenges, identify core causes, and make sound, practical decisions• Effective communicator who can explain technical concepts and trade-offs clearly while building alignment across technical and business stakeholders• Collaborative and open-minded professional who thrives in diverse, cross-functional environments• Committed professional with a continuous learning mindset, focused on self-improvement and helping the larger team thrive• Pragmatic in decision-making, balancing speed, quality, scalability, and maintainability to deliver business value• Committed to raising engineering standards through knowledge sharing, documentation, continuous improvement, and mentoring others What we offerWe offer an exciting position with great development opportunities in an inspiring environment at the world's number one wind turbine producer.
