Job summary

Vestas in Aarhus is seeking a Data Engineer to help shape our foundational data products and data capabilities, enabling better analytics and AI initiatives. The role collaborates with engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, governance-focused data transformations.

You will work on designing data models, promoting best practices, and owning the lifecycle of data products in a hybrid work setting with a minimum 3 days in the office in Aarhus, Denmark.

Qualifications

• Experience in data engineering with solid SQL and scalable data transformations.
• Familiar with Snowflake, dbt, and modern data engineering workflows.
• Demonstrated experience owning the architecture and technical direction of data products or platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, DevOps practices, Azure services, and cloud-based data engineering environments.
• Experience transforming complex source systems into clean, governed data products.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-quality data products that support business and analytics needs
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and domain experts to translate core business concepts into robust, reusable data models
• Own the technical design, architecture, and lifecycle of data products, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable
• Partner with the Area Architect to define architectural direction, evaluate technical trade-offs, and ensure alignment with engineering standards and principles
• Promote best practices across data modelling, testing, CI/CD, observability, and operational support to promote engineering excellence
• Provide technical support across teams by helping shape decisions, mentoring colleagues, and promoting a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

Working closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams, you'll help shape our data platform, improve engineering excellence, and support the growth of a collaborative, effective data community.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-quality data products that support business and analytics needs
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and domain experts to translate core business concepts into robust, reusable data models

Qualifications

• Experience in data engineering, data platform development, or related roles, with solid SQL skills and deep experience in building scalable data transformations
• Familiar with Snowflake, dbt, or similar transformation frameworks, alongside modern data engineering workflows and best practices
• Demonstrated experience owning the architecture and technical direction of data products or platforms, including scalable data modelling approaches such as Data Vault, dimensional modelling, or similar patterns
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, DevOps practices, Azure services, and cloud-based data engineering environments
• Experience transforming complex source systems into clean, governed data products
