Vestas seeks a Data Governance Lead Professional to mature governance capabilities across the organization. You will collaborate with Domain Data Owners, Data Stewards, Product Owners, Architects, and Digital Solutions teams to ensure data as a strategic asset.

Your role includes defining ownership structures, data quality controls, and governance practices, enabling analytics, automation, and AI initiatives across business domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information management, CS, engineering, business, or related field.
• Background in Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management.
• Experience with governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM or similar.
• Ability to translate governance principles into practical scalable ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation and continuous improvement of Data Governance Framework across domains.
• Establish Data Ownership and Data Stewardship communities.
• Define and monitor data quality standards, controls, metadata management, and documentation.
• Partner with business and digital teams to enable analytics and AI initiatives.
• Collaborate with information modelling specialists to embed governance into standards and models.

To support this journey, we are looking for an experienced and collaborative Data Governance Lead Professional to help mature governance capabilities across Vestas.

As a Data Governance Lead Professional, you will play a key role in supporting governance adoption across business domains and ensuring data is managed as a strategic asset. You will work closely with Domain Data Owners, Data Stewards, Product Owners, Architects, and Digital Solutions teams to improve governance capabilities and establish trusted data foundations.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of the Data Governance Framework across business domains, using maturity assessments and roadmaps to guide progress
• Establish and develop Data Ownership, Data Stewardship, and governance communities to promote accountability, alignment, and best practices across the organisation
• Define, implement, and monitor data quality standards, controls, metadata management, and data documentation practices to improve trust in data
• Partner with business and digital teams to build well-governed data foundations that enable analytics, automation, and AI-driven initiatives
• Collaborate with information modelling specialists and architects to embed governance requirements into enterprise standards, models, and processes

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in information management, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
• Background in Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, or a related discipline
• Experience with governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM or similar, familiarity with governance tools such as Informatica, or related platforms
• Effective stakeholder management and facilitation skills
• Background managing cross-functional efforts in large, complex organizations
• Ability to translate governance principles into practical and scalable ways of working
• Combines strategic thinking with a methodical and practical approach
• Thrive in collaborative environments, building alignment across business and technology teams, and working with stakeholders without direct authority
• Support progress by approaching unclear situations with curiosity, openness, and a steady focus on learning
