Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in law, business, or finance.
  • 8+ years as a Contract Manager in energy, construction, or large projects.
  • Proven track record managing complex contracts and claims with limited oversight.
  • Strong legal and contractual expertise, including negotiation, preparation, and compliance.
  • Advanced analytical and strategic abilities with negotiating and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in managing contracts and ensuring team awareness of risks and opportunities.
  • During execution, supervise contractual risks, support variations, claims, payments, milestones, and negotiations with subcontractors.
  • Analyze contract performance to identify commercial opportunities and advise project management and controlling teams.
  • Conduct risk assessments of contractual terms and implement mitigation strategies to minimize exposure.
  • Serve as the main interface between project teams, legal, and finance for contract issues.

Join our dynamic team as you take the lead in managing complex project contracts within the Grid Technologies division. How You’ll Make an Impact
  • You will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager in managing the contracts and making sure that all project team members are aware of the risk and opportunities.
  • During the execution, you will supervise contractual risks, support in performing variations, claims, payment requests, monitoring key milestones or other requirements and by preparing and negotiating contracts with third-party sub-contractors.
  • Analyze contract performance to identify and capitalize on commercial opportunities, providing expert advice to project management and controlling teams.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of contractual terms, proposing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize financial and operational exposure.
  • Act as the primary interface between project teams, the legal department, and finance for all contract-related issues, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.
What You Bring
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) as a Contract Manager, preferably within the energy, construction, or large-scale project execution industry.
  • Proven track record as a subject matter expert managing complex contracts and claims with limited oversight.
  • Strong legal and contractual expertise, including contract negotiation, preparation, and compliance.
  • Advanced analytical and strategic abilities, with excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
About the Team

You will be part of a contract management team consisting of five Contract Managers and two Student Workers. You will have a close dialog and collaboration with different stakeholders, such as the core project team, other Siemens Energy entities, customers, business partners, and third-party sub-contractors. The team collaborates across functions and plays a central role in supporting both internal stakeholders and external partners throughout the contract lifecycle.
