Job summary

Jones Engineering Group in Denmark is seeking a Commercial Manager, preferably with an Electrical background, to join the Data Centre delivery teams. This role offers growth opportunities with guidance from senior staff in Ireland.

You will oversee contract compliance, manage subcontractor accounts, monitor cash flow, and report on commercial risks across multi-disciplinary teams. The position provides competitive salaries and support for professional development and chartered status

Qualifications

• Relevant third level qualification in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Economics.
• Experience in Data Centre projects preferable but not essential.
• Electrical background required and strong contract management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Construction Team on Quantity Surveying functions
• Ensure contract obligations are complied with and monitor compliance
• Identify potential commercial risks and report to management
• Prepare monthly progress applications with accurate remeasure and variations
• Handle procurement activity in conjunction with Procurement Department
• Manage subcontractor accounts from award to final account
• Forecast turnover and cash flow for projects
• Review and manage all projects for accurate reporting
• Identify trends within the Business & Projects and report outcomes
• Review correspondence from Employers/Design Team/subcontractors for critical items
• Mentor the Commercial Team on site
• Conduct all other duties related to the role

Job description

Due to continued expansion in our Data Centre division, Jones Engineering require a Commercial Manager preferably with an Electrical background to join the delivery teams for large Data Centre Project in Denmark. This Data Centre Project is in a region where further growth is expected and is an opportunity for an ambitious Commercial Manager to grow their career with support and guidance from our senior staff in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• To provide support to Construction Team on all Quantity Surveying functions including, but not limited to the following:
• Ensure compliance with contract obligations and provide advice and monitoring of same to construction team
• Ability to identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting of same to management
• Compile monthly progress applications and ensure they are inclusive of accurate remeasure, site variations, day-works or claims
• Procurement - operational procurement activity and contract support, in conjunction with the Procurement Department
• Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account
• Managing and forecasting of turnover and cash flow of the projects
• Reviewing and commercial management of all projects, to ensure accurate and reliable reporting
• Identify, Analyse and report on trends within the Business & Projects
• Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies
• To ensure Construction Team is adhering to all Contractual Requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same
• Manage and mentor the wider Commercial Team on site.
• All other duties associated with this role

Key Skills/ Requirements

• Relevant third level qualification essential in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Economics
• Previous Data Centre experience preferable but not essential
• Experience in an Electrical role required
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-functional team
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills
