Job summary

Trackunit, based in Denmark, is seeking a Legal Counsel – Commercial Contracts to own negotiation and drafting of MTAs and related commercial agreements across EMEA and APJ. You will collaborate with Commercial teams to accelerate deal velocity while managing risk and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in contract negotiation, ideally gained in-house or with strong commercial exposure.
• Working knowledge of GDPR and EU data- and software-related legislation.
• Strong commercial instincts and ability to balance legal precision with deal pragmatism.
• Experience in software or construction technology is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to escalate redlines outside the standard playbook when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Own the negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts, particularly Master Telematics Agreements (MTAs).
• Act as a trusted legal partner to Commercial teams across EMEA and APJ, resolving standard redlines independently using the established contract playbook.
• Identify and mitigate risk exposure in contract terms, escalating to the General Counsel when terms fall outside standard playbook parameters and, where material, to the CFO/CEO.
• Support general legal, governance, and regulatory work, including data protection (GDPR) and other EU legislation, alongside commercial contracting.
• Build and maintain an understanding of Trackunit’s business, products, and customers to balance legal precision with commercial needs.
• Take full ownership of the commercial contracting process and playbook, contributing to reducing the General Counsel’s workload.
