Job summary
Vestas Technology & Operations is seeking a Data Warehouse Engineer to lead cloud modernization of the plant data platform. You will collaborate with architects, SMEs and product stakeholders to shape data product roadmaps and migrate workloads to cloud infrastructure.
You will mentor engineers, drive architecture discussions, and ensure robust data processing across thousands of power plants worldwide, contributing to sustainable energy leadership.
Qualifications
- Solid command of advanced SQL & ELT design patterns and data flow optimization.
- Experience migrating data workloads from on-prem to cloud ETL + Data Warehouse.
- Experience with Azure services, Snowflake and DBT.
- Extensive data modelling experience in cloud data warehouses and data structures.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Experience with SQL Server, SSIS & SSRS is a plus.
- Experience with data mesh, Python, Py-Spark is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Identify data products and workloads in legacy warehouse with Architects, SMEs, and stakeholders.
- Co-own product architecture and define the strategic roadmap for plant data warehouse.
- Analyze upstream and downstream data flow impacts across multiple source systems.
- Contribute to design and delivery of migrating data products to cloud.
- Lead key POCs and mentor data engineers on technical solutions.
- Facilitate code and design reviews within the team.
- Oversee operational data products (Level 3 Support).
