Job summary

Schneider Electric Denmark is seeking a Chief Accountant in Copenhagen to join a global leader in energy management. You will combine technical accounting expertise with international collaboration and business impact within a dynamic finance team.

You will lead IFRS reporting, balance sheet ownership, tax reporting, and cross-border audits while driving process improvements and working with the Shared Service Center in India.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of Danish accounting experience, preferably in a global organization.
• Experience with a Shared Service Center is a plus.
• Strong SAP and Excel skills with good command of MS tools.
• Fluent in Danish and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Lead monthly and quarterly closings in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP.
• Full responsibility for balance sheet accuracy and reviews.
• Ownership of annual reports, income tax returns and tax reporting.
• Lead Balance Sheet Review meetings and collaborate with key stakeholders.
• Coordinate and drive external audits for assigned legal entities.
• Drive simplification, standardization and continuous improvement of accounting processes.
• Participate in finance projects, system improvements and ad hoc analyses.

About the role

As Chief Accountant, you will play a central role in ensuring high-quality financial reporting and compliance across the Nordic and Baltic entities, working closely with the global Shared Service Center in India. You will be part of a strong, international finance organization where collaboration, continuous improvement and professional development are highly valued

Your main responsibilities

Who are we looking for

To succeed in this role, we believe you have a solid accounting foundation and the confidence to take ownership in a complex, international environment. We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience working with Danish accounting, preferably in a global organizat
• Experience working with a Shared Service Center (meritorious)A proven track record in process improvement
• Strong skills in SAP, Excel and other MS tools
• Fluency in Danish and English, both written and spoken
