Job summary

Aalborg University invites applications for a Postdoc in Thermal Processes in Power to X Technologies within AAU Energy, Department of Energy, Section for Thermal Engineering, Aalborg campus. The position starts 1 October 2026 or as soon as possible and runs for 24 months.

The candidate will work on CFD modelling of hydrogen and ammonia systems, contribute to MetNH3Energy and ACE Water projects, and publish in international journals while collaborating with partners across Denmark and Europe.

Qualifications

  • PhD required in Thermal Engineering or equivalent with a demonstrated research track record.
  • Strong background in thermal modelling and CFD modelling.
  • Experience with publishing in international journals and conducting EU/industrial collaborations.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct CFD-based research on thermal processes in power-to-X technologies.
  • Design, execute and analyze research studies; collaborate with national and international partners.
  • Publish results in high-quality journals and present at conferences.
  • Contribute to project activities (MetNH3Energy, ACE Water) and supervision of students when appropriate.
