Job summary

Cari in Bagsværd, Denmark, is seeking a Capex Project Controller to own the financial control of investment projects from business case through execution and close-out. You will provide project managers and directors with a clear, forecastable view of performance against scope, budget and schedule.

The role requires strong budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow control and IAS 16/IAS 36 knowledge, advanced Excel and SAP experience, fluent English, and the ability to challenge assumptions

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• At least 5 years of project-controlling experience in Capex or investment projects.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, cost and cash-flow control, variance analysis and EAC reporting.
• Knowledge of Capex governance and accounting, including IAS 16 and IAS 36.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong SAP experience.
• Strong stakeholder skills and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.
• Fluent English and a valid work permit for Denmark.

Responsibilities

• Own budgets, baselines, forecasts, cash-flow plans and monthly reporting for your assigned Capex projects.
• Control commitments, actuals, accruals, contingencies, changes and estimate at completion, so performance is always visible.
• Explain deviations, quantify risks and opportunities, and elevate material issues early.
• Support investment decisions, change control and gate approvals with robust analysis and constructive challenge.
• Ensure Capex governance and accounting compliance, while strengthening Capex-control standards, tools and reporting across CMC Development.
• Work with system developers to build data- and AI-enabled tools that bring schedule, procurement, SAP and forecast data together into actionable management insights.

As Capex Project Controller, you will own the financial control of investment projects in CMC Development, from business case through execution and close-out. You will give project managers and directors a clear, forecastable view of performance against approved scope, budget and schedule, and turn project data into recommendations they can act on. Your work keeps investments transparent and within approved funding, so decisions are made on solid ground and at pace.

What you’ll bring

You are analytical, structured and commercially minded. You combine attention to detail with a clear view of the whole project, and you communicate deviations and recommendations with confidence. You will also bring:

• A relevant master’s degree.
• At least 5 years of project-controlling experience in Capex or investment projects.

Who you’ll work with

You will join the CMC Investment Project Office, part of CMC Investment, which enables and governs investment projects across CMC Development. It is a collaborative, high-visibility team where transparent data and disciplined execution directly influence investment outcomes.

Your closest partners will be the project managers and directors running your assigned investments. You will also work with system developers on data integration and reporting, and with colleagues across CMC Development who rely on clear, timely financial insight. Based onsite in Bagsværd, you will be close to the projects and the people behind them – helping create clarity when priorities compete and keeping decisions moving.

You will report to Mads Tjørnehøj Jørgensen, Sr Director.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from DKK 651,000 – 956,900, corresponding to the level of the position. The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge and relevant experience.
