Job summary

Emmerys is a Danish organic bakery and café chain headquartered in Valby, with about 35 stores in and around Copenhagen and Aarhus, supported by a nationwide team of around 600 employees.

As a Business Controller, you will partner with finance and operations to drive data-driven decision-making, profitability and performance reporting across stores and production.

Qualifications

• Held a relevant academic degree in business, finance or economics (Cand.merc., HD(R), or equivalent).
• Few years of experience or a recent graduate.
• Strong analytical skills and data processing with Excel.
• Structured and detail-oriented while keeping an overview of complex tasks.
• Proactive, curious, and able to challenge existing processes and drive improvements.

As a Business Controller at Emmerys, you will take on significant responsibility from the start and play an important role in driving commercial and operational success. You will turn data into business decisions by delivering data-driven insights, conducting financial analyses, and working closely with management and the wider business. We are looking for an ambitious Business Controller who enjoys getting close to operations and is motivated by both taking ownership and continuously improving the way we work with data, performance, and decision-making.

Emmerys is a Danish organic bakery and café chain specializing in freshly baked bread, pastries, and high-quality coffee. Today, we operate 35 stores primarily located in and around Copenhagen as well as in Aarhus, supported by a nationwide team of around 600 employees.

Your Role and Impact

As a Business Controller at Emmerys, you will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making and providing management with clear, data-driven insights that help drive our growth ambitions. You will be part of the finance team and report directly to the Finance Director, working closely with C-level stakeholders and contributing to the daily collaboration between finance and the operational teams across both our stores and production facility.

In this role, you will be involved in a wide range of tasks, and you will have the opportunity to influence how the position evolves and where you can create the most value for Emmerys.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Acting as a business partner to finance, commercial, and operational teams.

• Preparing analyses and reports based on internal data and external market developments.

• Managing larger cross-functional projects, for example within store profitability, performance reporting, pricing, digital initiatives and operational improvements.

• Evaluating previous investment projects and using insights to strengthen future investment decisions.

• Supporting budgeting processes and financial planning activities including capex material preparation

• Providing ad hoc analyses and decision support to the management team.

• Helping further shape this relatively new role and its areas of responsibility, with significant opportunity to influence where you can create the most value for Emmerys.

In your daily work, you will use Business Central, Power BI, and JetReports as your core tools, and you will gradually become a superuser in these systems as part of your role.

We expect that you:

• Hold a relevant academic degree in business, finance, or economics
  (e.g., Cand.merc., HD(R), or equivalent).

• Have a few years of experience or is a recent graduate.

• Have strong analytical skills and solid experience with data processing and Excel.

• Work in a structured and detail-oriented manner, while keeping an overview of complex tasks.

• Are proactive, curious, and not afraid to challenge existing processes or suggest improvements.

• Are eager to learn, flexible in your approach, and possess the determination to see projects through from start to finish.
