Job summary

Siemens Gamesa in Aalborg seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join the Blade Validation team. You will design static and fatigue structural tests on wind turbine blades for the NB19 (MKVII) project and prepare test setups with advanced instrumentation.

You will monitor tests, analyze data with MATLAB or Python, and compile technical reports to support product integrity. A 2–5 year background in structural testing or validation is ideal.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Structural/Aerospace engineering or related field.
  • 2–5 years in mechanical engineering roles (structural analysis, testing, validation).
  • Hands-on with composite materials and structural testing preferred.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Design static and fatigue structural tests on wind turbine blades and components for the NB19 (MKVII) project.
  • Prepare and manage test setups, including instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and mechanical loading equipment.
  • Run simulations, process, analyze, and interpret large datasets from structural tests using tools like MATLAB or Python.
  • Document all test activities, results, and findings in comprehensive technical reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot anomalies observed during testing, collaborating with design engineers to communicate findings and support product improvements.
What You Bring
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a relevant engineering role, such as structural analysis, mechanical testing, or product validation.
  • Hands-on experience with composite materials and structural testing, which is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and Python, with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
