Job summary

Orbis Medicines in Copenhagen is growing its data platform and seeks a Scientific Data Engineer to build systems that capture data accurately for biology and chemistry teams. You will work with researchers to design pipelines, implement ETL processes, and ensure data integrity following FAIR principles.

The role is onsite in Copenhagen, collaborating with software engineers and data scientists to enable AI/ML workflows and scalable data infrastructure for drug discovery.

Qualifications

• A degree in chemistry, biology, bioinformatics or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a scientific environment with drug discovery data.
• Strong Python and data libraries knowledge.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Ability to design data structures for scientific data and communicate with scientists.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the Orbis data platform, including migrations and new systems.
• Gather requirements from biology, chemistry and data science teams and prototype solutions.
• Write and maintain ETL pipelines to organize data.
• Safeguard data integrity and quality per FAIR principles.
• Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to enable AI/ML operations.
• Serve as the go-to contact for lab scientists using data products.
