The University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a tenured Associate Professor position in “Oxide semiconductors for photovoltaic applications” at the Mads Clausen Institute, SDU CAPE, Sønderborg. The starting date is 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The successful candidate will combine research leadership and teaching, advancing oxide semiconductor thin films from synthesis to device integration, and will build international collaborations within a dynamic

Qualifications

  • PhD in physics, chemistry, materials science or electrical engineering.
  • Proven publication record in oxide semiconductors and thin films.
  • Teaching experience at Assistant Professor level.
  • Ability to attract external funding and supervise students.
  • Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with SDU CAPE team and supervise younger researchers.
  • Lead new research directions in oxide semiconductors for PV applications.
  • Establish innovation-based activities within oxide photovoltaics.
  • Teach courses at SDU and supervise BSc, MSc and PhD students.
  • Contribute to obtaining funding for research projects.
  • Maintain international collaborations.
