Qualifications

  • PhD is required and demonstrated didactic/pedagogical training.
  • Strong international track record in human in vitro neurobiology and neural circuit engineering.
  • Experience with 3D cellular models including organoids and microphysiological systems.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary and public-private collaborations.
  • Ability to attract external funding and lead a research group.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a research group focused on neural circuit engineering and multicellular systems.
  • Attract competitive external funding for research activities.
  • Teach and develop courses in biomedical cell and tissue biology, neural engineering, biosensors and bioanalysis, and bioengineering.
  • Supervise students and mentor postdocs and junior faculty.
  • Develop strategic research and educational initiatives and foster national/international collaborations.
