Job summary

DTU Bioengineering seeks an Associate Professor to lead research on neural circuit engineering and multicellular systems using stem cells. You will attract external funding, teach courses in biomedical cell biology and neural engineering, and supervise students and postdocs across a collaborative, international context.

Your work will strengthen 3D human neural model platforms and microphysiological systems, addressing brain-body interactions and translation to therapies.

Qualifications

  • You must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary and public-private collaborations is desirable.
  • Strong management and leadership skills for running a research group.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a research group conducting frontier research within neural circuit engineering and multicellular systems based on stem cells.
  • Attract external funding for research activities and develop courses.
  • Supervise students and postdocs and contribute to strategic research initiatives.
  • Grow national and international collaborations in neuroscience and stem cell science.
