Job summary

The nanotechnology centre NanoSYD at the Mads Clausen Institute, University of Southern Denmark (SDU), invites applications for a 3-year Assistant Professor position in Advanced Microscopy, Spectroscopy and Chemical Imaging. The appointment starts 1 January 2027 and ends after three years.

The successful candidate will lead development of advanced analytical methods combining imaging and spectroscopy with quantitative data analysis.

Qualifications

• PhD required in a relevant field (physics/engineering/chemistry/materials science) with a strong research record.
• Proven capability in advanced imaging or spectroscopy and related analytical methods.
• Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively and to supervise students.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and application of multimodal imaging and spectroscopic methods.
• Apply chemometrics and data-driven analysis to complex datasets.
• Collaborate internationally and with industry partners on research projects.
• Supervise BSc, MSc and PhD students and contribute to grant proposals.
